    The 2006 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (ICMLC 2006) will be held in Dalian, the northeastern gateway of China. This is the fifth year in the conference’s running. Since its inception, the conference has been receiving increasing attention from the research and academic communities in the field, receiving over 2000 submissions last year. Apart from bringing together researchers and developers in machine learning and cybernetics to share their findings and development collaborations, the conference also offers an opportunity for important works to be published, first in proceedings and later in special issue of journals and monographs. Renowned researchers in the field will also be invited to give keynote speeches and tutorials in the conference.
